Whip It Up Wednesday: Grandma's Nuts 'n Bolts

Growing up, my Grandma B would always visit us during Christmas and stay for a few weeks. During that time, she'd make a ton of her yummy desserts and snacks that would fatten us up for the new year. One of our favorites was her delicious Nuts 'n Bolts. She'd make a huge batch and it would last well into the new year. Now, one of the traditions we have in our home is to make this yummy snack during the holidays and then share it with our family and close friends. One funny thing is that David isn't the biggest fan of it, he doesn't like pretzels and peanuts together. It's okay, I'm not offended.

Here are some of the images from the batch I made over the holidays. Sorry for the delay, I feel like January has been all about catching up on life in general.
And here is the recipe:

Grandma's Nuts 'n Bolts

1 medium box Rice Chex
1 medium box Wheat Chex
1 medium box Cheerios
1 box straight pretzels
1 pound of cocktail peanuts
3 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 Tbsp. garlic salt
1 1/2 Tbsp. celery salt
1 1/2 Tbsp. onion salt
1 1/2 pound butter (melted)

Directions

Mix all of the above ingredients in a large plastic bag (having mixed salts and sauce in melted butter). *Double the trashbag because those pretzels will poke through.

Heat over to 250 degrees and cook for 2 2/3 hrs.

*Stir every 1/2 hour.
