The first weekend of June, David and I had the opportunity to fly up to Montana to photograph our dear friend Deborah's wedding. She and Scotty are SO MUCH FUN, and we had the greatest time. Now, let me preface this post really quick and say that we only photograph weddings upon some very special requests, and this was one of them. How can you pass up the opportunity to photograph the wedding of one of your oldest and dearest friends sisters?
Deborah and Scotty were married out at his family cabin in the Bear Paw Mountains, just outside of Havre. The weather was gorgeous, up until a few hours before the ceremony. The skies turned BLACK! We were ready for a downpour any second, thunder, hail and lightning was in the forecast for the afternoon. God was definitely on our side the entire day, because we only had rain for about 10 min. Half way through their gorgeous ceremony, the sun came out and it was just perfect.
Deborah was such a gorgeous bride, and we had a great time getting ready at her home. It was extra special, because her loving pups were able to be with us. I just love the picture below of Oscar. He has been in Deb's life for over 10 years.
Jen, Deb and Lori. Jen is Deb's new sister in law and Lori is Deb's sister.
The blue sky on the way to the cabin before the weather drastically changed. I love the signs Deb and Lori made.
We always highly recommend a first look to a bride and groom. You get to have some special moments together as a couple before all of the craziness of the day gets underway. I love the one below of Scotty wiping his tears.
Hello gorgeous bride and handsome groom!
David and I took a walk around the property to find some special little spots for their portraits. The one below is my favorite and I think it should be BIG in their new home!
David took care of all things related to the guys! Love the knife!
We took every opportunity we could to find blue skies, which Montana is known for!
Deb is SO CREATIVE! She took care of ALL the wedding details and designed everything. All of her gorgeous flowers were flown in a few days before. The arbor/alter for the ceremony was hand made by some of Scotty's groomsmen. I sure hope it ends up in their back yard to be enjoyed forever by their family.
Love you my sweet friend!
The Bride's family!
And the Groom's family!
Love the picture of Scotty, Deb and Nanny!
YES WE DID!!!!!
More reception details.
Time to party!
The last image below was taken on a hill outside the place where Scotty and Deb met. We missed the sunset by a few min. but still had some light left.
Deb and Scotty, thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to photograph your special day and to spend time with you and your families. We had the greatest time seeing all of you and the Big Sky Country! We love you and can't wait to watch your love and family grow! Love, Tira J & David
