The Jasmine Star Workshop, Recap

She is FUN, FRESH, and FABULOUS! She is Jasmine Star!

On Tuesday, I was blessed to have the opportunity to attend Jasmine's very first photography workshop. It's actually called, "The Workshop". Twenty extremely talented photographers from all across the country and Canada came to the workshop on Tuesday. Most of us have become friends on facebook, stalk each other's blogs and follow one another on Twitter. I am going to do another post on all of my new friends from the workshop so don't worry, you will get to meet them.

When I first arrived at the location, I ran into Jasmine's Mom and JD and I started to cry, partly because I hadn't seen them in a while. It was a good cry because I was soooooo excited to be there on that day because it was my Dad's birthday, and if you have been keeping up with me, you will remember that he was also a professional photographer. And the tears kept coming down because both my Mom and Jasmine's Mom, Millie are both cancer survivors. Every day is a blessing that they are still here with us. Thank you Lord!

Back to the workshop. When I saw Jasmine, it was like catching up with an old friend. We hugged, laughed and shared some tears. It was going to be a great day. Jasmine had absolutely no need to be nervous, as she is an excellent public speaker. I love to hear her speak because she keeps it real! K.I.R.!! I wasn't entirely sure what the day entailed other than we were going to learn from the best. What I did know is that we were going to talk about branding. And since I just went through the process, it all came full circle and I learned how to really incorporate my new brand into the business.

After lunch, our models, Brittany Leigh and her fiancee Zach got all decked out with full makeup done by Vivian Tran of All Made Up and some wedding attire. They rocked the session out! Seriously! I had never been to a shoot like this, so I was literally taking it all in and trying to keep mental notes of everything.

The absolutely gorgeous Brittany and Zach
Jasmine encouraged us to find a signature image and the one below is mine for the day. Honestly, even though they were modeling, I think this image gives hope for all of their dreams that will come true in the years to come. I love images where the subject isn't looking directly at the camera.
And because I asked! I had asked Brittany to pop her leg and then Jasmine said, "who said that?" Don't worry, it wasn't a bad thing, it was a learning opportunity for us.
My other favorite of the day. Brittany and Zach are getting married in a few months and I can't wait to see their wedding images.
HOLLLLLAAAAA! Trust me Jasmine, there were several to choose from.

This one clearly demonstrates how much fun Jasmine likes to have with her clients during a shoot. I will post more images in the next post.
To sum it all up, I am thankful. Thankful for the opportunity to learn from the best, and I am extremely excited to continue to watch my business flourish. Thank you Jasmine! Love you!
