Mandy and Scotty

They have overcome so many obstacles in life and love, and it is what happened last Saturday that was a true testament to their faith and their love. Scotty and Mandy were married in the brand new worship center of Church of the Open Door, and it was a beautiful event, not only for them, but for the entire church. If you remember some of things we shared with you from their engagement session, it only gets better, because God was truly present on this special day.

We started out the day with some heavy mist falling from the sky, with the possibility of a huge damper on our day. But by 1 p.m., the mist was gone and we were ready to start the wedding portraits. I will say it here as many other photographers have mentioned before, we are so happy that Scotty and Mandy opted to do a first look on their big day. This time was exclusively for the bride and groom, and it alleviates a lot of stress for the remainder of the day. They were so happy to see each other in their finest attire, and as David and I looked from afar, you could tell that they are madly in love with one another.

As with almost every single wedding, something seems to go a little haywire and in the case of this wedding, somehow, the grooms ring was left behind. Our fearless Benton was sent on a mission at the last minute to go find the ring and then make it back for the ceremony. And later, the wedding went on without any other delays. Our entire church family came together to make sure Scotty and Mandy's day was special, unique, and had all of the added perks of one big party!

*Mandy and Scotty, you both looked amazing on your wedding day and we were truly blessed to be a part of your special day where not only you two became joined as one, but both your families became united as one in Christ. We hope you have had a wonderful time up at June Lake on your honeymoon. Much love and blessings to you both! Love, Tira J and David.
Mandy's hair was done by Lori Bock and her makeup was done by Shannon Stark. If you are interested in their services, please connect with me through the blogsite.
Mandy and Scotty opted for a first look, after month's of discussion. Love the looks on their faces.
Silly groom.....you have to wait until later!
Zion, Mandy' son walked her down the aisle. He looked so grown up with his hand in his pocket and the little smurk on his face.
The most hilarious part right after Mandy and Scotty were pronounced husband and wife was when our friend Mark played "Hot for the Teacher" as they walked down the aisle!
Our pastor, Ed Underwood and his beautiful wife Judy.
Mandy's student's from Bonita High School.
If you hadn't already noticed, there were quite a few people, including the groom wearing Chuck Taylor's! Mandy put her's on right after the ceremony. True comfort and style!
Mandy wanted some stylish portraits of her family after the ceremony, so we added Jeremy's 1961 F-100 Ford pick-up truck! It was awesome to have such a great prop.
The new family!
