Fight On!, University of Southern California

This past Saturday, I had the awesome opportunity to attend the USC vs. Washington State game at the Coliseum. Heather was generous enough to give her season tickets to Jennie and I, so she and her father could hang out with his friend who also has season tickets. There is something about going onto the USC campus and then going to the game that gets me all charged up for the fall season. I love it. I always wanted to go to USC, but God had other plans for me. I don't know a whole lot about football, unlike my two friends in the picture below who bleed cardinal and gold but I LOVE football season. Luckily, they share all of the inside tips and plays with me.

Here is the star of this season, Matt Barkley, who already has a Wikipedia page. We waited around for the Trojan walk where all of the players and coaches go into the Coliseum and get cheered on by their loyal fans.

Our good friends from church, whose family has been die hard USC fans and season ticket holders since the late 1920's. Dave and Karen, the greatest tailgaters around.

Jennie is always up for a challenge when it comes to football and it looks as though Dave gave her a run for her money, or was it the other way around. Karen?

There is a special place in my heart for the band, as I played the clarinet all through Junior High School and High School. The benefit of seeing a USC game in person....the half time show! Below is actually what the band did before the game which was just as good as a half time show.

My favorite image of the night. If you are a USC fan, you know that this is part of your livelihood...to Fight On.

The final score. It was a great game, but it seemed like just another game. Not a lot of excitement but a great win. Please say a prayer for USC running back Stafon Johnson, who was injured on Monday during his weight training practice and had emergency surgery. You can read more about it on this blog.

Thank you Heather for the awesome tickets!

The Images, Orange County Photog Shootout

Yes, these images are definitely from a while ago, almost a month, but I have been extremely busy and now you can finally see them. And, I needed to get them posted before the next Orange County Photog Shootout, which I promise will be better than the last according to some reliable sources. What do you get when you mix some gorgeous models with almost 50 photographers and two talented people who planned this event? Rockin' images! That's right, Hanssie and Matt did it again, and I had a blast! If you are a photographer and want to find out more about the Photog Shootout groups, you can check out the brand new website that launched this past weekend. Click here to view the details.

See below for some of my favorite images!

The reenactment of the Time Traveler's Wife movie poster.

The next set of images are of my friend Hanssie's beautiful daughter, Mackenzie! She is going to be five years old in November and was a dream to work with. I know that most of the photographers were there to shoot the grown up models, but I just kept photographing Mackenzie, because I love those kiddos!

2009 Holiday Portrait Sessions, Upland Portrait Photographer

Many people have inquired about getting their Holiday Portraits done since the newsletter came out last week. I wanted to put this post up again for the weekend and mention that if you do want your holiday portraits done in time for Christmas, you need to pay for your session first to hold the date on my calendar. Dates are filling up fast and I will not be taking any sessions after December 1st. No bribes please but chocolate is welcome!

Looking forward to photographing you and your loved ones!

Hopeless Romantic

It's true! I am one hopeless romantic who loves a great book and those awesome movies they show on Lifetime Movie Network, the Hallmark Channel and ABC Family that show a great love story. David calls them "Chickity Flicks" and there are times that he will get suckered in to watch one with me. As long there is a great story behind it of course.

Right now, I am reading Nicholas Sparks latest book titled, The Last Song. I am a almost a quarter of a way through it and am anxiously awaiting to see who Ronnie falls in love with. Please, hurry and get there already. I know that he needs to spend some time building the story, but bring on the love! No, I don't like those trashy novels you pick up at the grocery store check out, just the REALLY good love stories that leave your heart breathless. I have every single Nicholas Sparks book and I will confess that he is my favorite author of all time. Special thanks go to Jennie who introduced me to him (not in real life) a number of years ago. If you have already read the book, please don't spill anything in the comment box below!

And yes, below is another image from the So Cal Photog Shootout I went to in August. I am a little behind, but it was also nice to see that my friend Hanssie is also behind and just posted her images today. More images from that fun event will be up soon.

Doesn't this picture scream a little romance and maybe a love story? We were getting ready to reenact the image from the Time Traveler's Wife movie poster. Another book that I just picked up because my friend JJ said it was good!

Who are some of your favorite authors?

39 Years of Birthday Blessings!

I cannot believe that I am "outing" my age on my own blog, but since it is MY blog, what the heck! Today is my 39th birthday! No joke! Happy Birthday to ME!

I have LOVED my thirties just like a refreshing diet coke with lemon! I still remember my thirtieth birthday when my family and friends totally surprised me with all sorts of goodness! The last 39 years have have had their own ups and downs, but more ups than downs, which makes this life that I am a part of, simply amazing! I am looking forward to the next 39 years. The truth is that 40 is the new 20, so that is what I am really looking forward to. And I really don't feel my age at all, which is GREAT! My life has had all sorts of wonderful things and people in it and I am forever grateful to my loving husband and all of my friends and family who "complete me" on a daily basis. I would not be where I am today if it weren't for David, my family, friends and clients who have loved me for my crazy idiosyncrasies, obnoxious laugh, the rolling of the eyes, and a dumb joke at the end of a crazy conversation. Thank you for loving me! I am sure that I should be making a list of all of the things I want to accomplish this next year, but that is an entirely different post.

My totally loving and amazing Mom and brother made me a cake for our family dinner on Saturday night and look at the candles they put on top! Fabulous! I requested just a simple white cake with white frosting. I am a simple girl who loves a great cake.

And then look at these beautiful flowers my Mom and brother Matthew brought for me! I LOVE yellow daisies and when my father was still alive, he took a photograph and titled it, "Daisies are Forever", so when my Mom handed me these on Saturday night, that is what she said, and of course, I got a little weepy!

Happy Monday!
