Don't just sit there!

If you follow me on twitter, or are one of my friends on facebook, you were probably wondering what was up with all of the cryptic messages on Tuesday. Especially when I mentioned Morphine! The sad news, I was diagnosed with having a blood clot in my left leg and have to do all sorts of crazy stuff because the doctor said, even stay off work for three days! The great news is that I had a great hospital visit, and it was at one point laughable when the patient in the room next to me was consistently yelling, "Jon, get me the phone, I have to go to the bathroom, give me something to eat, come see me". Poor Jon was my nurse and was just about to burst because of this poor guy who was clearly delusional. He was later transported to another facility and we chuckled about it a few times afterward. I do hope he is okay now.
Now, if you are wondering how in the world a blood clot developed in my left leg at such a ripe "young" age, well it is because of all of the SITTING! Last week, I unfortunately injured my calve muscle at the gym and because of that injury, not staying active and sitting for the last week, the blood clot developed. I am thankful that we caught it early, because if you know anything about blood clots, they can be fatal. You see, I still have a full time job and sit at my desk 8 hours a day Monday through Friday. Then, because I am IN LOVE WITH PHOTOGRAPHY, I will get so engrossed in editing pictures for my clients, that I sit for hours on end at my computer upstairs in the office. No wonder I developed a blood clot! Photographers.....pay attention!!!
So, the new Tira J is only going to be sitting down for 45 minute segments and once the wonderful Egg Timer Widget that miraculously says my name correctly and goes off, I will get up and move around, get something to eat or drink and then later come back to what I was doing. And I will be exercising a whole lot more, the hubby even bought me a new pair of sneakers today from my online shoe retailer! Unfortunately, I can't use them until later next week. Dr.'s orders!
The morale of this tale is, don't sit for too long, drink plenty of fluids, don't sit with your legs crossed and exercise! |

| Because every blog post is better with a picture, I wanted to put up one more picture of Katie and Nick who are getting married this weekend! Can't wait for their special day! |

Huge prayer request!

| Many of you who know me, know that my bosses wife Deborah has been battling brain cancer for the last 3 years. If you don't know, this is Deb with her youngest daughter Jamie, and she needs all of the prayers she can get right now. Pray for a cure! |

I received a text message from Todd this morning asking for more continual prayer, because after the last set of treatment, they found out that additional treatment or surgery may be needed. I won't go into any of the other specifics. All that I ask of each of you who read this blog is to PRAY HARD and leave your thoughts and prayers in the comment box below!
Pray to our Heavenly Father and Divine Healer that HE will cure Deb of this horrible cancer so she can have a healthy life with her husband and three beautiful daughters.

Happy 9th Anniversary....

...to my Sweedie!
I can't believe we have been married for nine years. It seems like yesterday that I married my very best friend, my soul mate, and the man who will care for me in sickness and in health, even when I pull a muscle in my calve, like last night. I love you around the world and back!
Yep, he is the man who I am spending the rest of my life with. David and I are celebrating our 9th year of marriage today and I can't believe how much we have accomplished as a couple, and as individuals. I am a firm believer that when two are joined together as one, that you are better people. I promised David that I wouldn't get all mushy in this post, so I am going to keep it short and sweet.
For a few of the years we have been married, we have followed the guidelines for Traditional and Modern wedding gifts. This year, we invested in a Kitchen Aid Mixer, not really in those guidelines. For those who are reading this and know us pretty well, you know that we do a LOT of cooking at home (David actually does most of the cooking) and we have been wanting this mixer since we first got married. So, this is our anniversary gift to one another. Isn't she a beauty? Can't wait to make more homemade goodies with it. And since I am a cook in training, this is perfect! |

| And for those photographers reading this post, be sure to go over to Jessica Claire's blogsite to wish her a Happy "30'th" Birthday. 7/22 is a GREAT day! Happy Birthday Jess! |

Aline & Levon: Wedding with [b]ecker

This past Saturday, I had the awesome opportunity to shoot a wedding with [b]ecker & Katie Keller! Most brides and photographers know him as [b]ecker, but his real name is Christopher Becker. I plan on doing a separate post on this entire experience, so you will have to check back in a few days.
Aline and Levon were married in an Armenian Church down in Santa Ana, where three Armenian Priests married them. It was a beautiful ceremony, and a complete honor to participate in this momentous occasion, and to grasp their culture. After the wedding and before the reception, we traveled to the lab to do some "[b]ecker relaxed portraits". Once the portraits were done, we made our way to The Island Hotel in Newport Beach for just a few more portraits. And then it was time to party into the wee hours of the morning with the couple, their family and friends.
Gorgeous Christian Louboutin shoes which had money stuffed in them by Aline's brother. It's an Armenian tradition for good luck. |

| Her lovely bouquet included her Grandmother's broach. |

| Levon waiting for his bride. This was the last image I caught of him right before Aline was placed into his arms. |

| A gorgeous Armenian church. |

| So incredibly happy together. |

| A few "[b]ecker relaxed portraits" at the lab. |

| I love these next two images, because they are so endearing. |

| I had to steal Aline away to get this image, and we had a blast. Shhh....don't tell [b]ecker! |

| This is part of the [b]ecker experience which I will share more about later. |

Aline and Levon, it was so wonderful to be a part of your amazing day. I wish you all of the love and blessings life has to offer. Thank you for sharing your love with all of us. Peace to you, Tira J.
Enjoy the gallery below for some more images from the big day! |
