Senior Portrait Photographer, El Dorado High School, Sasha

Meet Sasha! Isn't she just the sweetest? I met Sasha, her sister Allisonwho has also been in front of my camera) and their Mom down at the Muckenthaler Center in Fullerton for her senior portraits. We had so much fun together and once again, I laughed a lot. This time, I was laughing at Sasha, making herself laugh. Seriously, this girl is funny!! Sasha is a senior at El Dorado High School and has been involved in tennis, and volunteers at a hospital. Let me tell you, this girl has some big dreams and goals to save the world! Sasha wants to become a pediatric oncology nurse once she finishes college. She's got her life all mapped out. This makes me so happy, because Sasha will be able to help children like Jordan Shahbaz and the many others who have to fight childhood cancers.
Sasha, you have a remarkable story and I was honored to have the opportunity to photograph you for your senior portraits. May you enjoy your senior year of high school to it's fullest and reach for the stars! May God Bless You! Love, Tira J.

*In case you are wondering, it is totally fine for you to bring a pet along to the session. They are family members too. Please let me know ahead of time so we can go to a pet friendly spot. |

Reading: The Girls from Ames: A Story of Women and Friendship by Jeffrey Zaslow Still Reading! I've been so busy, I haven't had much time to read.
Enjoying: The MUCH cooler weather this week. Last week...106 degrees. This week.....in the eighties.
Watching: Go ahead and laugh, I like to watch Make It or Break It on ABC Family. Lauren drives me CRAZY!
Thinking about: All the awesome negatives of my father's I found this weekend and how I am going to get them scanned and printed. Need to find a medium format scanner.
Looking forward to: The students coming back next week, and photographing a friends little one this weekend.
Thankful for: My family, and specifically how happy my brother is right now.
Listening to: Seal and the Creative Live Wedding with Jasmine Star. My friend Laura got married in front of the world! Check it out.
The image below is of the negatives I found while organizing all of my scrapbooking stuff. Wow! Some of them are from the 50's. My Dad was so incredibly talented.

A Winner & A Sneak Peek, Fullerton Senior Photographer

Last week, I was asked if I had chosen a winner from the Cinnamon Sticks giveaway. Sadly, I was so crazy busy last week with so much going on in my personal life, that my blog sort of took a back seat. Sorry. The great news is that I am back and everything is great on the other side of my life.
Here's a little sneak peek from Sasha's senior session I did last week. She was having so much fun with her little puppy Macy. More to come. |

| And in other news, there is a winner of the fun Cinnamon Sticks giveaway, and that is Marsha! Congrats! I will be sending you your prize soon! |

Whip It Up Wednesday: Blueberry Crisp

| At least it is still Wednesday and I get to post this recipe! We have been having some internet issues at home, so doing work has been a little difficult. Let's hope this works! This new recipe is full of yumminess and antioxidants (the good for ya stuff). Blueberries!!! We love em! |

We got this recipe from David's executive assistant Bea, who found the recipe in Saveur Magazine
Blueberry Crisp
SERVES 4 – 6
"If you are lucky enough to find yourself with an overabundance of blueberries, this easy-to-make crisp is delicious way to prepare them. This crisp can also be made with peaches, plums, or other summer berries."
6 cups (3 pints) blueberries, washed and stemmed
1⁄2 cup granulated sugar
1 1⁄4 cups flour
2⁄3 cup brown sugar
Pinch of salt
10 tbsp. cold butter |

1. Preheat oven to 350°. Toss together washed, stemmed blueberries and granulated sugar in a bowl, then transfer to a medium baking dish.
2. Combine flour, brown sugar, and a pinch of salt in another bowl. Using two knives, work cold butter, cut into pieces, into flour mixture until it resembles coarse meal. Sprinkle mixture evenly over blueberries. +We used the food processor to mix up the butter and other ingredients so it was easy to sprinkle.
3. Bake until berries are bubbling and topping is golden, about 50 minutes. Allow to cool for 15 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature with heavy cream spooned over top.
You can also serve it with heavy cream, whipping cream, or even ice cream.
Enjoy! |

Senior Portrait Photographer, Glendora High School; Austin

Meet Austin!
He's smart, athletic, caring, and is one of my senior model reps for Glendora High School. We had so much fun at his session last weekend, and as usual, I laughed a lot, because I love my seniors. Austin has dreams and goals as big as this world, and I know he is going to achieve them, because he has faith. His ultimate goal after he graduates from high school next year is go to college, and then go on to Harvard Law School. Hence the reason he is sporting that awesome t-shirt above. Another goal Austin and his sister have is to become models for Ford Modeling Agency. Austin is on the track team at Glendora and volunteers with our church a LOT! I mean A LOT! He is such a giving person of his time, faith and love for others.
*Thank you Austin for your being so photogenic in front of my camera, and for having fun during your entire session. I know that you are going to go places in their world and I appreciate you more than you know for your huge heart of gold. Blessings, Tira J.
